When selecting specifications, first estimate the typical flow rate and flow range, then choose the water meter specification that matches the commonly used flow value. This is because the water meter's performance stability and durability are optimal under commonly used flow conditions, aligning with design requirements. If the pipeline is designed with future water capacity in mind, a water meter with a caliber one size smaller can be selected. For example, if a 200mm diameter pipeline currently has insufficient flow, a 150mm diameter water meter can be installed. When the flow increases to the normal level for a 200mm pipeline in the future, a water meter of the same caliber can be replaced. For large industrial water consumers, one larger caliber water meter can be selected, or multiple smaller caliber water meters can be used in parallel. This approach also allows for maintenance or replacement of individual faulty water meters without affecting the user's normal water supply.
